At the Crescent College, B.S. AbdurRahmaan University, Vandalur, Tamilnadu

On Wednesday, October 10th 2018, I participated in an Islamic Cultural Program as the Chief Guest, while a lot of engineering and arts students attended my talk on Today's Youth and the Importance of Morals & Ethics.

It was more of an interactive session, wherein the students raised many intellectual questions that were worth addressing to.

I opened my talk by questioning the audience as to what is modesty. And then explained the section 497 Adultery law that was clashing with most of the religious morality in India.

We discussed about love marriage, cleanliness, social responsibility, Darwinism, science, religion, hijab and many other things within a span of one hour. The event was attended by the Muslims and the Non-Muslims teachers and students.

And I did address the students of BA in Islamic Studies too in the college masjid, while reminding them of their significance in our society once they complete their studies. Some of the things discussed there were about sincerity of intentions, the need for tazkiyah - purification of the soul, the importance of applying knowledge into practice and the need for learning many languages and beneficial disciplines.

This was my second lecture in the University auditorium after delivering the previous lecture about a decade ago. The auditorium was the same, but the students have changed, and my approach towards people and the world too has changed over time. I don't know if that's maturity or not, but simply love the way things are progressing. Alhamdulillah - all praises and thanks be to Allah. He does what He wants.
