Yesterday, on 7th October, 2017, a Conference was organised by AL HAQ FOUNDATION, Mangalore, by the name "MUSLIM BROTHERS MEET". It was an event to strengthen brotherhood amongst the Muslims in Mangalore who represent various organisations and movements.

I was invited as the Chief Guest to deliver a talk on this occasion. Here below are some of the highlights of my talk:

1. Muslims must unite to spread peace between all the communities.

2. Our Prophet had peace treaties with jews and the idolators. But are we holding such relations with people of other communities? We have to build good relations with the non-Muslims of our times. It is only through love and compassion we can make this society a better place for all to live.

3. Let us not be quick in terming anyone with disrespectful titles. Allah is very merciful. He can forgive an adultress woman for giving water to a thirsty dog, then can you imagine the love He will have for the believers who pray and give charity to please Him. There may be some differences where we can hold peaceful dialogues with each other; but let's not fight over trivial issues.

4. We have poor representation in the media today. We have no scarcity for intellectuals in our community, but we are not doing the right thing. We are poor in public relations. Why is that the people in Mangalore don't have a committee to monitor the media and address the issues that are demanding? It's about time that we stopped blaming people and start taking responsibilities to speak out our minds to the masses.

5. If Mangalore is not maintaining peace, then that will affect the entire Karnataka state. And if there's no peace in Karnataka, then that will affect the entire country. And that will in-turn affect the entire world. You are all important people for this world. So please take required steps to address the issues of the society.

6. Engage in social activities, educational and political activities too.

7. Allah doesn't need us. We need Him. We need His mercy and help, so that we find peace in this world and the hereafter. If we fail to do our duty, then He will replace us with another people.

Lot many references were made from the Qur'an and Hadeeth for the audience to reflect over the guidance of Allah.
